Movemate™ Active Standing Board

I really like the Movemate & I use it almost everyday. I think it helps with my foot neuropathy. But it is expensive. I'm glad, though, that I was able to afford it.

I love it! I have had a standing desk for a number of years now. I have tried different pads but never a balance board before. I really like the Movemate. I regularly change between sitting, standing, and now I have the Movemate for some more variation in the rotation. I hesitated at first because of the price, but its definitely worth it, given the amount of time I spend at my desk.

Wife loves it. It went straight to her office where she uses it daily. To me, it’s just wooden neck breaker.

Very comfy! Compared to a Fluidstance board, the Movemate allows you to move your feet in a much more varied way, although the Fluidstance is more "wobbly" which seems to activate my hips more. If the Movemate were slightly larger and "wobblier", it'd be perfect.

As a licensed clinical massage therapist I'm always searching for ways to help my clients keep their bodies moving while at work. My clientele consists of very active adults who still work and most from home these days. They tell me they sit at their computers and are on calls most of the day and their bodies are taking the toll. I've been searching for something safe for my clients to use for about 2 years now and luckily found MoveMate. Prior to finding MoveMate, I was having them stand on a Bosu Ball, but it is a bit clunky and not very easy to use. Once I found the MoveMate board all I could say was, Wow! This board is fabulous. As I said earlier, with most of my clients working from home, sitting or standing in one place all day long has not been anyone's friend and the MoveMate board has given their bodies a way to move while standing and/or sitting. Mobility in the ankles resonates all the way to the base of the skull and keeps the body less tense. My clients love it. I have them try it at my office first. I tried a bunch of balance boards for my standing desk and this was by far my favorite. It keeps me engaged and prevents my back from getting sore while standing. Better yet, I don’t end the day feeling fatigued from sitting or standing still all day. I steered clear from standing desk treadmills and other machines because a physical therapist told me they often cause injuries. She was very excited when I showed her the movemate and let her try it. Great product! Highly recommended.

I was a little hesitant about the Movemate for the few hours of trying it, but after a few days I couldn't live without it. I find that I'm much more motivated to stand at my desk now, and its not nearly as tiring as when I was just standing on the bare floor.

The Movemate offers a unique movement experience. I find it very soothing and calming. After standing on it for a bit I find myself relaxed and more able to engage in my work. The one area that I struggle with is that I slowly move to the right, have to get off it to move it back so I'm centered on the screen and keyboard. I'm sure that's a function of how I moved rather than the Movemate. Overall, I'm super happy with the product and how quickly it was delivered.

I've been using a more traditional flat balance board for a year, but I wanted something that would introduce more movement into my day. While I can't stand for long on my Movemate (still working up to it), I like it a lot and it gives me more variety to my day.

I like the form factor and use. Exactly as expected but should be 150-200 dollars. I would like a version made out of something else besides wood like composite/plastic.

As a Software Engineer I will live at my house standing desk for a long time. With the table I feel I can do more movements while standing, so it is much more dynamic. Also it is very fast to set before any casual meeting, so I can use in every one.

Love my Movemate! It gets me up and out of my seat while working, incorporating more movement into my day without it being wobbly or distracting!

Two and half years ago, I twisted my back and torqued my hip and right leg. It's been a nightmare—especially since I used to be a dancer. I waited forever to get a Movemate, wasting time and money on less products. The day I got my Movemate, I could "dance" on it. Then I could walk better and I am on my third day without nerve pain. Yes, Rolfing helped. So did trigger point shots, but I just carted the Movemate on a beach vacation. Think you might like it? Just buy it. It will save you time and make you happy.

The quality of this product is fabulous. It is easy to stow. But most of all, it helps me to be active while I work ot my standing desk. Great to use because it is now part of my rehab program in order to relieve my foot from the pain caused by plantar fasciitis. I do recommend Movemate.

As someone who works from home 10-12 hrs a day, alternating between standing and sitting wasn’t enough to keep my hips and lower back from freezing up. I also have a 30-yr-old quad injury that didn’t help. MoveMate has been the answer I’ve been looking for! I find have great balance, so I wasn’t sure if I could pull it off, but I have. The movement has loosened my back and hips while strengthening my lower body. My chiropractor has even noticed a difference in my stability and strength. Well worth it.

This is a premium product with a premium price. This is an investment in your health that is worth the price. Most balance boards have horizontal movement (side by side). MoveMate's innovation is balance and movement that is side by side, back and forth and up and down. My feet and calves deeply appreciate the addition of MoveMate as ballast to the standing desk experience..

Yes I am happy with my movemate board. I am using it while standing at the desk or while ironing clothing. It keeps my body moving while being stationary. My feet like feeling of the wood. The build quality is very good. I can recomend it other people.

I like how mobile it is. Its kinda taxing on my feet, but i guess i just have to get use to it.

This is a great value investment in a piece of ergonomic office furniture. For the first time I can comfortably spend hours at my standing desk. The mechanical stimulation helps with circulation and concentration I'm sure. It is light, stable and looks nice in the office. Would recommend.

Movemate is quite possibly one of the coolest and most useful purchases I have ever made in my entire life. This piece is everything it says it will be. It is SOLIDLY made, delightfully flexible, and a total joy to use. I actually have fun on this thing. And it helps so much when standing in the same place at a standing desk, for example. You know how when you stand for a long time on a concrete surface you get so fidgety and you shift weight from one foot to the other trying to relieve pressure? Movemate is the solution to that never happening to you again, while also bringing fun and something super sculptural and beautiful to your office. My love for this is way up there with a tempurpedic mattress topper and sliced bread.

Excellent delivery experience with well designed packaging. The product itself is immaculate quality with thoughtful design details like the carry grooves. It’s already encouraging me to use my standing desk and feels easier on my feet than a flat hardwood floor. I usually have issues with my lower back, but haven’t experienced any soreness after having used the Movemate. 10/10 would recommend.

Loving it and using it daily. I particularly like the individual slats which engage with the different parts of the feet, massaging them during use. It’s pretty tactile and feels great.

Now that I’ve been using Movemate, I can feel my entire core and lower body engage while at my desk. I often forget that I’m balancing. The effects are noticeable, but the sensation of balancing is subtle enough that I can hold it for long periods. I have ADHD and it has undoubtedly helped with focus as well. Highly recommended. Plus, they’re a Canadian company.

I had a special request regarding delivery and fully expected that I wouldn't get a Movemate after all, but the Movemate team surprised me with a very kind suggestion and a great solution. Thank you so much for your efforts and dedication! So now I've spent a few weeks with my Movemate and I love it. I didn't expect it to be so much fun. I bought it because I used to have the problem of standing lopsided in front of my desk and a balance board was too static for me. I no longer have that problem with my Movemate. I still can't stand on it for very long (more than 30-60 minutes), but that's to be expected as the linked wooden parts give me quite an intense foot massage (I use it barefoot). But I love being able to move around in front of my desk (I tend to stand when I'm very focused and move when I'm less focused). It's great to be able to move in different ways (walking and rocking). And it's fun to wiggle the wooden parts under my feet when I'm sitting. The wood feels really good, too. I hope the Movemate will last me a long time.

It hurt my heart to pay so much, but it's the only thing I found after extensive research that would work for what I want. I'm able to stand at my desk for much longer now because I'm not in a static position. It gives a great foot massage. I'm more active. I get some good calf stretches in. I have less foot pain from standing. And it looks way better than most balance boards which is important because I work in my small bedroom.

I walk a lot and thought I was doing it quite well...until a dear friend gave me Movemate. It taught me more complete movement by having to use the feet, from heel to big toe pushoff, to move the pelvis more. This sends the movement up the spine that encourages counter-rotation easily and frees the head to look around! It's a wonderful product and beautiful too. I hurt my hip, not sure if the Movemate was to blame but I'm keen to get back on it!

I have noticed that while working, I tend to put all my weight on my left foot, which is detrimental to my posture. With MoveMate, I am able to constantly switch my weight to the other foot, and it's amazing! When walking on the ground, I feel much more stable than before - it's like I've started using my entire foot to its full potential. I read that doctors recommend working for 20 minutes sitting, 8 minutes standing, and 2 minutes doing exercises (and then repeating this cycle). I am currently following this advice (spending 8 minutes on MoveMate), and I really like it! It seems like a well-balanced work routine. I also want to give a special thanks to Maya from the support team - she helped solve the problem of not having direct delivery to my country. I am very happy that MoveMate eventually reached me and is helping me lead a more active life!

Love this board! I especially enjoy standing on it during meetings to keep me from tapping my foot or being distracted by something else when I am on Zoom. Great addition to your standing work station.

I've finally found something that keeps me active and moving while at work. My low back feels more at ease and my hips more mobile. Even my ankles felt stronger from the arches being engaged. I love the MoveMate!

The movemate had been an excellent addition to my cube. I like using it as a foot massager/fidget toy throughout the day and standing/walking on it during meetings and woke watching training videos. Overall it's been fantastic!

I wasn't really sure what I was looking for but knew that I wanted some kind of balance board that would prevent a static stance whilst working at my standing desk. Movemate seemed to be the perfect solution, as I was also looking for something with a touch of style. I've found that Movemate has significantly helped with stretching the ligaments in my feet and having suffered with Morton's neuroma due to narrow feet. My preference is to use Movemate bare footed to get the full benefit. A great find..well done guys, an excellent design.

I am really pleased with my Movemate. I use it at my standing desk to stay active in my office throughout the day. It is also good to use sitting.

Like a foot fidget!

Movemate is always under my desk. Even if I don't actively and purposefully use it, just to rest my feet on the board and 'play' is so much better than resting the feet on the ground. Exercises on movemate help me with balance and agility.

As a Certified Ergonomist, I’ve noticed that more people are transitioning to standing desks to help with their posture and reduce their pain while working at a computer for long periods. To help encourage movement, I advocate alternating between sitting and standing every 30 minutes. However, I notice that when people are standing, they often lean onto their desks, shift their weight from one leg to the other, and rest into a hip. It’s hard to find time to keep my body moving with back-to-back sprint meetings and tasks Especially while I’m still recovering from a ruptured Achilles, movement has been very limited to say the least. But that’s not an excuse for me to sit around and just wait.

I have been using the MoveMate board for 3 months now and haven't left a review yet because I've been debating whether or not to deduct a star due to a minor issue. However, I still really love the product. Anyway, this review is going to be a bit lengthy. I use the MoveMate board to make my home office work healthier and it also increases my productivity by improving my circulation. It took some time to get used to it. At first, I could only use it for half an hour, but now on a good day, I can use it for 3-4 hours. It's mildly demanding on my feet, legs, and posture, but it helps me get in shape. I prefer using it with socks because it provides enough challenge without causing noticeable wear and tear. However, when using it barefoot, the surface is a bit too hard for my liking. But using it barefoot offers a different experience. After a longer barefoot session, walking feels like my toes are gripping into the floor and standing feels like my legs taken roots in the ground. The MoveMate board offers a wide range of movement and standing options, so it never gets boring to use. It's stimulating, but not too much to affect concentration or cause quick fatigue. I found it best to use it at the start of my workday and after lunch break to kickstart my work sessions. According to my colleagues, it's not annoying on video calls even if I wobble a bit on it. Overall, I really like the MoveMate board. It has made me generally more active, improved my work process, and I would recommend it to others. Now, let's talk about the one issue I have encountered. First of all, it's not a deal breaker and it can be resolved, but it's significant enough to deduct a star. When the weather gets hot and humid, the board becomes really loud. It makes a creaking sound like that of a decades-old door. I received it in the middle of summer, so it started to get loud fairly quickly. I contacted customer support, which was an amazing experience by the way. They were quick, polite, and helpful (kudos to Maya!). I initially inquired about the tools needed to take it apart so I could lubricate it, but they went the extra mile by arranging for a replacement. Unfortunately, the replacement developed the same loud creaking issue quickly. Then, I figured out which hex key to use, took it apart, applied a mix of wax and oil on the wood between the washers, and it was better than new with no noise at all... for a few months until the next heat wave. I repeated the process and it's good again. I'm not complaining about the maintenance, as it's somewhat expected from a wooden product and I don't mind it. However, the maintenance is not mentioned in the product description or manual, and based on our communication, the engineering team seems to be unaware of this issue and they didn't provide me with the answer to my original enquiry about which tools I need to handle it myself. Hence, I'm deducting one star. In conclusion, I love the ergonomic features of the MoveMate board and I use it every day with satisfaction. However, this version requires recurring maintenance and there is room for improvement in the production process.

Movemate is great. It takes a little while to get used to it, but it beats the only real competitor (the Gymba) by a mile. Truly an innovative product that defines a new class of ergonomic balance boards.

My Movemate arrived well packed and ready to use. It is lower profile than I expected so it doesn’t add too much height when at a standing desk (I’m tall and my standing desk height is maxed so this was a worry). It is extremely user-friendly and I have been using it daily since I got it. It’s heavy and stable and seems well constructed. There is a slight squeak of wood against wood in some movements, but nothing loud or annoying and it might just be because it’s new. I’m very happy with this after a week of steady use - it let’s me add a variety of movement when standing which is exactly what I was looking for. I’m impressed!

I *love* my Movemate. And all my coworkers are already jealous of it. Definitely recommend this if you work standing up, it feels great to move around and explore all the different stances.

My movemate is an integral part of my work from home set up, elevating my standing desk to something even more beneficial for me. While standing is much better than sitting and slouching, I found that the addition of the movemate allows me to get much needed movement and engagement in the various muscles in my body. The movemate is simple to use, looks great, and has helped me deal with tight leg muscles caused by prolonged sitting.

Price is maybe a little high, but the product is a great little piece of office furniture

I absolutely love my movemate! It is so comfortable and I don’t get fatigued from standing at my desk. It feels so natural and I love how many different combinations of moves you can make. I can finally work standing up without discomfort! Being able to move so naturally while working is priceless and really helps counter the negative physical effects of having a desk-job. Movemate were also really helpful getting the board shipped internationally.

I've probably doubled how often I work while standing all thanks to the Movemate board. It's intuitive from the moment you step on, and you can help but smile as you simultaneously massage your feet while strengthening your feet and toes. It's an expensive product but would recommend

I wish I had this MoveMate years ago! Works fantastic especially with our new Mac Pro Stand that can adjust the height of the display and stand up desk. The MoveMate feels like an extension of my movement and completes the work space set up. I am already feeling the benefits and feel a good workout in the legs in core. Also great on the feet! Epic innovative, sustainable product.

I’ve loved my experience with Movemate and the Movemate company. The product is well designed, helps me to strengthen my core and loosen up stiff muscles while working at my standing desk, and helps me focus better while I work (I have ADHD so being able to move and fidget while working helps my mind tune in). I get that it’s not for everybody, but if moving while working helps you focus, or you’re rehabbing a lower body injury, this thing is wonderful.

In the pic, you can see my setup: I got two chairs and I can also lift my laptop/screen so I can stand in front of my screens. At the floor, you can see my MoveMate in front of my desktop. When I'm not using it, I push it under the table and sit on one of my chairs. I rotate through the chairs, standing by myself, standing on my MoveMate all day (I also walk to and back from work for in sum 8km a day and do yoga at least twice a week). All of it helps me to manage my needed level of being active with my body. I'm going on 50 and I can tell ya, this is what I really need at this point. Only switching through the chairs would not help. Only adding just standing would also not help. I need my MoveMate to extent how long I can stand in front of my desk. (Also: the move on the MoveMate where you use your feet in all directions, combing moving left/right and back/forth, is close to the way I usually dance, so there I go practicing my dancing all day!)

After years of sitting at a desk it has left me with tight hip flexors. Movemate has encouraged me to get up and move, it has reduced stiffness in my hips and improved my mobility.

Usually I stand for awhile intermittently to work and when I do I get sore. Movemate has definitely reduced the pain and extended the length of time I stand!!!! Worth every penny!!!

I love it. It's easy and intuitive to use. It feels like a foot massage. It's beautiful (saying this because I am a woodworker), it's mostly made from natural materials. I feel more motivated to stand at my desk with the balance board than without it, so it's a double plus for me. Less time sitting AND a bit of extra movement because of the balance board. The one downside: I had it at home for a few days and my kids loved it so much that it caused some drama when I finally took it to the office. They practiced their surf and dance moves on it like there was no tomorrow.

I was lucky to get a quick shipment of my movemate to the UK. The customer service team were responsive and helpful. I ordered the movemate because I was getting a lot of back pain sitting at a desk all day. Since it arrived, I've used it every single day, for several hours at a time and my back has been great. I would highly recommend.

I thought that being a large guy could have been a problem but everything works perfectly. The texture is great on bare feet and the continuous movement at my standing desk is superb. Heartily recommended.

This board is everything I hoped it would be. I have a desk riser at work and just standing was not comfortable. I came across movemate and was hesitant because of the price point. However, it is worth every penny. The way the board moves feels like how I was trying to move when I was just standing. It’s so easy to use and seems to help relieve pain and reduce fatigue. The only thing I’m having to get used to is my bare feet directly on wood. My feet feel a little raw sometimes… but they do recommend starting off using it for small amount of time to get used to it. I don’t see that as anything against the board, just something to get used to since I like to stay on it for longer periods of time. Highly recommend this board!

Using it has been making my back feel so much while at work.

I bought this lovely object after my wife shared and Instagram video of it. I saw a therapist had been using it for somatic trauma work, so as a therapist in a community where historical trauma is the basis need of healing I was even more curious. I metwith him virtually and fell I love with what this product could do. To this date I've only used it with myself, my wife who is neurodovergent, 1 client and 3 coworkers. Everyone is amazed. it’s perfect

Love it!! As soon as I'd had a day to play with it, I was recommending it to all my friends with standing desks. I love how natural the movement feels, and being able to shift around makes it easier to stand for longer and helps me stay focused through boring tasks that are a struggle when I'm stuck in a chair. Makes me wish I had more than one work-from-home day a week to use it!

Honestly I love it. It’s an easy and fun way to increase activity while working or just watching TV. Solid craftsmanship as well.

I didnt want to buy a treadmill for my standing desk because its not easy to concentrate while working… this allows you to move while you work, easy to use and playful… the only downside is: I do not wear my shoes at home and after 15 min it starts to hurt my foot moving my foot helps but still at some point i need to get off

I have MoveMate for more than 1/2 year now. Often I keep the board under my desk so the feet rest on it. Without focusing on it the feet move and therefore stay active. It also helps with my posture while sitting in front of the computer. I also use MoveMate in addition to my Tonal equipment, doing workouts while standing on the board. It adds an extra complexity and fun to the exercises.

I'm very pleased with my purchase. Knowing there would be a delay, Movemate was very transparent with their timeline and communication. Once received, I have been very impressed with the functionality and quality of this board. I ruptured my Achilles in December and this board has been a fantastic addition to my rehabilitation therapy.
